Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. She sings as well. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. It was in her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence after being highly praised during an audition. She not only gained confidence because of the experience, but she also changed career goals. In 1992, she earned her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. Her professional career began when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The greatest accomplishment of her career occurred in the role of The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. She did not only get the Tony Award, but her performance was also highly praised by the critics. The recognition grew even more by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she released a solo as well as an extended version. She is also a campaigner and has been active in the field of LGBT rights.
